BSNL launches Penta TPAD IS701R, WS704C and WS802C Tablets in India


Telecom operator BSNL, a government of India enterprises has announced the launch of its three budget friendly Android powered tablets in the country namely Penta TPAD IS701R, Penta TPAD WS704C and Penta TPAD WS802C. Looking at the huge demand for tablets in India, BSNL has decided to enter into this business.
Pantel Technologies, an ICT devices hardware company has manufactured these tablets. BSNL ig going to sell these tablets from March 1 with special data plans and 3G services.
With BSNL’s world class telecom infrastructure across the entire country, the power of information technology can be harnessed at very affordable prices today,” said RK Upadhyay, CMD, BSNL.
With students using the bundled data download on BSNL network every month, they will recover their investment of the tablet within one and half year, thereby making the tablet free for them,” said Vijender Singh, MD, Pantel Technologies.


Penta TPAD IS701R
  • 7-inch resistive touchscreen display with 800X480p resolution
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 1GHz processor
  • 256MB DDRII RAM and 2GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB
  • 0.3-megapixel camera
  • Wi-Fi, 3G Dongle support and HDMI port
  • 3000mAh battery
IS701R is the cheapest tablet among the three  with the selling price of Rs. 3,250 slightly costlier than recently launched Aakash tablet.

Penta TPAD WS704C
  • 7 -inch capacitive display
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 1GHz processor
  • 512MB DDRIII RAM and 4GB of internal storage with microSD card support
  • 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front facing camera
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth,  aGPS, 3G Dongle support  and HDMI port
  • integrated SIM card and 1080p HD playback support Ws704C is priced at Rs. 10,999

Penta TPAD WS802C
  • 8- inch capacitive display
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 1.2 GHz processor
  • 512MB DDRIII RAM and 4GB internal memory with microSD card support
  • 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front camera
  • Bluetooth, aGPS, HDMI port and 1080p HD playback support
WS802C is priced at Rs. 13,500.
BSNL has become the second operator in India to launch its own tablets after Reliance Communications (RCom) which has launched its Reliance 3G tab last year.
